KC Stars, Business as Usual in 152-106 Win Over St. Louis Stunners
November 30, 2009
Kansas City, Mo. Friday night was a series of firsts for the KC STARS basketball organization. It was the first game that STARS played on the CTU Kansas City Floor in Municipal Auditorium, the first game of the ABA regular season and the first win for the young KC STARS organization. However, the STARS are not rookies when it comes to dominating their opponents. In the last 3 games the STARS have scored an average of 148 points and have defeated teams by an average of 56.3 points.
The STARS, led by Head Coach Rodney Perry, trotted on to the court with a business-like mentality Friday night. Coach Perry had the luxury of playing a twelve man rotation. The STARS' starting Small Forward Dale Lamberth led all scorers with 27 points. He also added 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Mike "The President" Jefferson nailed 5 out of 6 three pointers to finish with 25 points. Alonzo Lane recorded the team's first regular season double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds and scoring 17 points. Additional fire power was ignited by STARS' Shooting Guard Nate Johnson. Johnson provided 24 points coming off the bench.
Half-time entertainment was provided by Kansas City's legendary Marching Cobras drill team. The Cobras kept fans on the edge of their seat with marching precision and rhythmic cadences. The KC STARS Dancers and DJ Hank kept the fans hyped during the whole game with choreographed routines. "Even though the game was a blow out, my family still enjoyed the entertainment experience," stated new fan Kaye Daniels of Kansas City. "We plan to be at all of the games!"
The STARS will play their next regular season home game against the Oklahoma Impact on Friday December 4, at 7:00PM on the CTU Kansas City floor at Municipal Auditorium.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com for the KC Stars regular season home games.
