Kansas City Stars, Kansas City's Newest Professional Sports Franchise

The Kansas City American Basketball Association (ABA) announced that Kansas City's new ABA team will be called the Kansas City Stars at Wednesday's press conference. The name Stars was selected because of the Kansas City Star Newspaper's historic relationship with the metropolitan area. "We wanted to dedicate the name of the team to the Kansas City community to show our love for our FANS," said FAME Sports and Entertainment CEO David Francis.
The Stars will host their home games at Municipal Auditorium in the revitalized Kansas City downtown area. The first home game will be against the ABA St. Louis Stunners on Friday November 27, 2009 at 7:00 PM.
