Intern Equipment Manager
Statement of the Job
Intern oversees athletic equipment room and issues and maintains team equipment. Work involves initiative and judgment.
Duties of the Job
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: current practices in the acquisition, delivery and maintenance of athletic equipment at post-secondary and secondary institutions; health and safety equipment requirements; American Basketball Association regulations; bids/proposals; basic budgeting, and record keeping procedures.
Ability to: integrate multiple athletic programs and provide services to meet the needs and goals of students and coaches; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships in the course of performing assigned duties.
Training and Experience
Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be a college degree and/or experience in dealing with athletic administration including health and safety equipment requirements; work experience in retail or wholesale business with secondary or post-secondary institutions; experience with financial systems and basic computer applications.
Special Conditions of Employment
May require working flexible hours, weekends and nights; requires travel to attend contests.
